ICA's Next Event: October 19th
Deploying and Managing
Large-Scale Online Services at Microsoft
Speaker: Brent Jacobs
Group Manager, Windows Live Operations - Microsoft
Microsoft runs some of the largest systems on the Internet, such as
Hotmail and Messenger, each with hundreds of millions of users.
Managing such large complex systems, scaling them to meet demand
is challenging – especially when they span many countries.
Our presenter, Brent Jacobs, has worked on several large online
services ranging from MSN.Com publishing systems to Office. His team
is responsible for planning, deploying, operating and optimizing several
systems supporting users located in Japan and throughout the rest of Asia.
He will share with us what goes on behind the scenes when preparing
new services for launch, what services are currently available, and present
a roadmap of the services to be launched in the future.
NOTE: this event will be at the Temple University's new expanded facilities: MITA HALL. URL is here http://www.tuj.ac.jp/newsite/main/mba/maps.html
