This message is to inform you that I am stepping down as President of ICA after serving more than 10 years in the role. It has been a great experience. I have enjoyed running the events, and meeting all the speakers & attendees.
I would like to thank all the people who have supported the ICA over the years, including all the board members who have served and contributed to the organization. I would like to give very special thanks to ICA Treasurer Chris Ohta—he has been the backbone of the ICA over the last 15 years, and is the man who keeps the whole organization running.
Steve Sidhu, who many of you know, will take over the role of President from this month. Steve has been a very solid contributor to the ICA over the last couple of years, and has shown a lot of enthusiasm for growing and expanding the group. I am sure that Steve will do a great job.
2010 is a big year for the ICA. In September, the ICA will turn 40 years old. In 1970, when the ICA first started, it was called the “September Club” and described itself as an English language forum that “enables managers and professionals in the information processing field, as well as general business professionals, to keep informed of the changes in business-related technology.” There are very few IT organizations anywhere with a history that stretches back 40 years.
I will stay on the ICA board and continue to attend most of the events. I look forward to seeing you all again soon at an ICA event.
Sincerely,
Darren McKellin
