Cloud Computing: Fact or Fiction?

Speaker: Terry Warren

President, Advantage 24 K.K.

Cloud computing is everywhere in the media these days.  From applications in the cloud to infrastructure as a service, companies like Google, Amazon, and others provide a myriad of “Cloud” services.  But what does Cloud Computing actually mean for today’s business & IT managers? Does the cost / performance equation really add up?  Is cloud computing really secure?  How can your business leverage the benefits of Cloud Computing to the best advantage?

This presentation will address these questions and more by helping to define what Cloud Computing is today and where it’s going, particularly in Japan.  The presentation will provide insights into a variety of technologies and services businesses can use to significantly reduce their operating costs and increase efficiencies.  From SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, to private clouds, several case studies will be presented highlighting how companies are using “the cloud” to their advantage today.

Terry Warren is a serial entrepreneur—he has founded, operated, and successfully sold several technology businesses in Australia & Japan.  Terry is currently co-founder & President of Advantage 24 K.K.  Established in December 2007, Advantage 24 K.K. has developed a cutting edge Infrastructure as a Service platform called Vantage Point, from which they provide compute, storage, and network services on demand.
