Recruiting top talent has always been an important objective of top management, and creative recruitment strategies are essential for finding, attracting, and hiring the best talent to achieve management objectives.
This event will provide a wealth of IT recruitment knowledge, and insights into the recruitment strategies of three market leaders. The topic will be of great interest to managers, to human resource departments, and to individuals looking to proactively manage their careers. Each speaker will make a five-minute presentation covering a specific topic, and then the discussion will be opened for audience participation.

James has 8 years’ experience in Human Resources in Japan, starting at a small IT recruitment company then joining a telecom start-up where his main focus was recruiting. He spent several years in the recruiting group at Microsoft Japan before moving to his current role at Barclays Global Investors, where he recruits for IT and business roles, in Spring 2007. James is a Masters graduate from the School of East Asian Studies at Sheffield University in the UK, and has been working in Japan since 1996.
Speaker: Lyle Andrews—Head of Recruiting,
UBS Securities Japan Ltd.
Lyle has worked for Japanese companies in the UK, and has worked in Japan for over 10 years. His 7 years in recruiting includes agency and in-house experience. He started his recruiting career in an agency covering a variety of products and sectors, including IT contractors. His first in-house role was as onsite manager for Goldman Sachs Asia (seconded from Resource Solutions) with Asia-region responsibility for all lateral and contingent recruiting. He joined UBS Securities Japan Ltd. in 2005, and is now Head of Recruiting for Japan.
Speaker: Paul St George—Group Head of IT,
SPARX Group.
Paul is currently Group Head of I.T. for the SPARX Group, Asia’s largest alternative asset manager.
Prior to this position he was at Schroder Investment Management (Japan) from 1997 to 2006, where he was responsible for a number of departments including I.T. In both positions he has had to build or restructure small but diversified I.T. teams very rapidly from scratch while keeping up with his internal clients’ technology needs.
