Japanese Social Media : Top Trends

Speaker: Marc Wesseling

Co-founder & Head of Sales, PressArmy

Our speaker will give an overview of the top trends in Japanese social media and explain why you should monitor and analyze them. He will also offer case studies of various social media do’s and don’ts, such as that of Dell, who had to recall 4 million laptops because of a single blog-post, and Unilever, who were forced to make a rapid response to a Greenpeace counter-viral message. He will explain why it is more and more relevant to track social media to know what people are saying about your company, brand, competitors and employees and go over various usages, such as tracking of illegal products, rich-ad serving technology and future developments.

Marc Wesseling is head of sales and co-founder of PressArmy, a bilingual social media monitoring and analytics platform specialized in Japanese social media, and is also co-founder of (digital) creative agency UltraSuperNew K.K.  He has been working in advertising and digital media at various agencies such as KesselsKramer on accounts like Diesel, MTV, Absolut Vodka etc. He is originally from Amsterdam, but has lived in San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong before moving to Japan in 2002.
