Surviving & Thriving in IT, Take Two

Speaker: William Achury

President, Sanko Telecom Co., Ltd.

The April presentation is about strategies for surviving and thriving in the network infrastructure business, and in the Japanese corporate world, from the viewpoint of a non-Japanese president of a Japanese company:  Sanko Telecom implements telecom & data infrastructure such as cable, fiber, and integrated enterprise networks—providing Internet, voice, and video services—for residential and business subscribers throughout Japan. Sanko has designed networks for the Landmark tower; Akasaka Sacas, Roppongi Hills; and Tokyo Midtown, and has business alliances with major Japanese corporations such as NTT, NEC, Fujitsu, CTC (System Integration), and Taisei Corp. (Construction).

Our speaker, William Achury, was appointed President of Sanko Telecom in 2008.  Originally from Colombia, he previously worked for eight years in a trading company supplying Mitsubishi Corp.  William will share his management insights, describe his vision and business models for leveraging the advantages of a multicultural environment and achieving growth even in difficult economic times.
