[Jul 27th 2017] Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to detect New, Emerging Cyber Threats in Realtime

52

Speaker:  John Kirch
Regional Director North Asia - Darktrace

In today's world with hyper-connected work environments and the growth of cloud, IoT, mobile technologies and other technologies have created a greater exposure on security risks. The large volume of connected devices feeding into networks provide a real scenario for cyber criminals with lots of new and plentiful access points to target. Furthermore, security on these access points is often deficient. Most organizations don't want to believe their companies would be subject to security threats or any form of exposure.

Today’s evolving cyber threats such as the recent ransomware attack called “WannaCry” demand a new approach to cyber-defense. These threats could only grow and get worse as hackers exploit newer methods as modern technology is released. Most organizations are too afraid to reveal their real losses for fear of credibility and name loss.

In this presentation our speaker will talk about the role of artificial intelligence combating cyber security threats.27 Jul 2017 - Event Picture 1

This technology leverages unsupervised machine learning to understand an organization’s ‘pattern of life’—without rules or signatures—and when to fight back. Artificial Intelligence is valuable in that it can process and analyze everything captured to understand new trends and details with predictive analyzing capability.

Our presenter will include examples and case studies of real-world threats detected by DarkTrace Immune System Technology (AI) that bypassed traditional cyber security systems. It will draw upon these successes and highlight why an organization in today's paradigm needs such solutions.
